Developing your commercial skills,

Have you ever been told that you need to become more “commercial”?  Or, have you heard someone complimented on their commercial skills and wondered how you can improve yours?  Have you ever felt out of your depth when people start talking about revenue and profitability but have felt too embarrassed to ask someone to clarify?  The truth is that many of the principles of sound commercial management are a lot more straightforward and easy to learn than you might think.  At this workshop we aim to help you grasp them.  You will learn from some inspirational senior women, some of whom are naturally commercially gifted and some of whom have had to work hard to develop their commercial skills. You will be able to pick up lots of tips and ask any question you like such as:

How do you manage a budget effectively when other people spend most of it?  What are the key principles of strong commercial management? Is there any room for risk taking? How can you negotiate more effectively? Is it possible to be both commercial and creative? Is it possible to be commercial and still have good professional relationships? How can you grow revenue and reduce costs at the same time? What does ROI mean? How do you go about forecasting?

Whether you feel that you are strong commercially already but would like to pick up a few more tips or whether you feel that it is a real development area for you, this workshop will be useful.
