Queenage Kicks
Shots have released two articles that provide some valuable insight into the difficulties experienced by Queenagers, a paradoxically powerful, yet often overlooked group of women aged 45-65, as they navigate challenges in advertising, the media, and other aspects of life, such as Menopause.
WACL’s open sourced menopause policy was launched on October 18th, World Menopause Day, encouraging ad industry leaders to download, adapt and adopt the policy into their businesses. Downloading the policy will supports WACL’s ambition of creating a world where 50% of CEO positions are held by women.
Lori Meakin shared some key things to remember in her recent LinkedIn post:
- “It’s all of our business to do better (and business it is – it’s costing us financially, as well as on emotional and social terms).
- All of us can help, by being more thoughtful and intentional about how we represent Midlife women in our work, workplaces, homes and conversations.
- Menopause is something women live through, not something that defines them (or even makes us write them off…)”
