Nishma Patel Robb becomes WACL’s 101st President
Many industry titles ran features on Nishma’s agenda for the year ahead.
This is from Campaign:
Nishma Patel Robb has taken over from Rania Robinson as the 101st president of Women in Advertising and Communications Leadership, with Karen Stacey appointed vice-president of the organisation.
Stacey, chief executive of Digital Cinema Media, is set to take over after Patel Robb’s tenure.
Patel Robb, senior director, brand and reputation marketing at Google, set out her agenda at WACL’s 2023 Annual General Meeting.
Her top priority includes building momentum for WACL’s campaign to have 50% of chief executive roles filled by women in 2045. She will extend the campaign by spotlighting the importance of modern leadership and allyship, with a focus on male colleagues and leaders.
Second, Patel Robb will develop the #RepresentMe campaign, which debuted its first television campaign earlier this year.
Finally, she is focused on developing a menopause policy for all businesses.
Patel Robb called it a “privilege” to take on the role of chair and added: “WACL members are the very best and most senior women in our industry, and I believe there is no better group of women to make change and lead the way for future generations.”
Patel Robb joined Google in 2014 from iProspect, where she was chief client and marketing officer.
Outgoing president Robinson, chief executive of creative agency Quiet Storm, said her successor was the “perfect leader” to advance the modernisation of WACL and would “usher in an inspiring new era for WACL as it enters its second century”.
