Just 1 in 5 returning mothers say they ‘felt confident’ about their return to work. Companies lose hard won, well trained, valuable talent, estimated at 20-213% of a salary to replace.
This loss impacts culture, morale, customer service, lost knowledge and the gender pay gap.
Those that do return can feel unprepared, having lost confidence and facing a different set of parameters than they have managed before. 55% of women felt taking maternity leave had disadvantaged their careers, and it’s been estimated to take up to 10 years for their careers to return to the point they were before.
Our belief is that supporting women through this transitional phase, can tackle their loss of confidence, and help stem this wave of women leaving.
MATRI is the working woman’s support – 4 hours of content and live webinars covering topics like: leaving effectively and signaling intent to return, KIT days, managing separation anxiety and the mental load, post-natal depression and being a single parent, enlisting the right support, managing boundaries and flexible working.
They also have access to their cohort of other mothers travelling this path at the same time – and an invaluable source of support, advice (and shared humour!).
The course aims to ensure employees consider fair and reciprocal arrangements, and encourages open, clear and consistent communication, so everyone can look forward to a calmer, better managed transition for both sides, and higher success rate.
