President’s Drinks 2022

Rania’s President’s Drinks took place on September 13^th at the Marylebone Hotel, London. Kathryn Jacob shares her experience of the evening.

“Marylebone- stylish, eclectic and fun. Of course that’s where we would have our first gathering with our new President!

It was so good to be back together after the summer and the room, as usual, was buzzing. You can always tell that when WACLers get together, there’s a hum of conversation, a buzz in the air and of course, lots of warmth. It was an evening where we, as women leaders, took the time to mark the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. As Rania noted, she was a female leader when there were very few and whose work was remarkable.

We have so much to celebrate as we come into our 100^th year. It would be easy to take for granted how much we give to each other in both formal and informal support, the contribution we make to the future leaders we help and the sheer volume of what we do. As well as the longevity of the club, we should use this year to celebrate each other. We’re all excited about what Rania’s Presidency will bring and judging by the increasing volume of chat as the evening went on, we’ll have a lot to talk about…”
